The Post and Courier in Charleston, South Carolina, will begin the relocation of its business and operations in mid-July 2021. As development has progressed on Phase Two of Courier Square where the facility is currently located, the transition to a more modern and efficient work arrangement will provide substantial growth opportunity for the company well into the future.

The publisher and business offices as well as the newsroom, advertising, marketing and circulation customer service departments will move to 148 Williman Street in Charleston. The space is located in the NoMo District of Charleston.

The property is managed by Raven Cliff Company. The group has redeveloped and currently owns nearly a quarter million square feet of formerly industrial space in the NoMo district. Most of the space is devoted to offices for technology companies, but there are also food and beverage businesses nearby. According to Steven Zoukis, “We are happy to welcome The Post and Courier to NoMo, a neighborhood which is evolving rapidly to meet the needs of a changing Charleston.”

The transition will continue in the fall with the pressroom, packaging, distribution and transportation departments relocating to the World Trade Center Charleston at 4500 Leeds Ave., North Charleston The facility will house The Post and Courier’s recently purchased 2008 Goss Magnum Single Width Press. “This press will allow us to grow well into the future and provide a quality printed product worthy of the award-winning news we publish,” said President and Publisher, P.J. Browning.

The new print facility will be centrally located in a multi-tenant manufacturing property owned by LRC Properties.

Allen Brown, asset manager for LRC, shares: “We are extremely excited The Post and Courier is moving to World Trade Center Charleston (WTC). They're a Charleston staple with a great history. When we acquired WTC Charleston, our capital plan was to target this type of user requiring heavy infrastructure that also wants the office amenity environment with great accessibility. We look forward to developing a great relationship.”

Substantial renovation is currently underway to accommodate the new presses, other production equipment and staff. The state-of-the-art print facility is expected to be fully functional by spring 2022.

According to Browning, “We are excited to transition into our new facilities and do not expect any disruption in service during the transition.”
