COVID-19 has turned a spotlight on the importance of mental health, destigmatizing it as a taboo topic, according to a study released by Parade Media and the Cleveland Clinic.  The two companies partnered with an independent global market research provider to conduct an online study with 2,219 Americans, 18 years of age or older.

Parade Media executives shared the results of the study during a roundtable discussion during the America's Newspapers Senior Leadership Conference this week.  The data was shared by Kevin Craig, senior vice president and director of newspaper relations; Reneé Miller, business manager, newspaper relations; and Scot Dalquist, vice president, newspaper relations.

Despite the pandemic's hardships, the study showed that Americans grew emotionally, creating a newfound sense of inner strength.  However, the pandemic continues to have an adverse impact on Americans' mental health.

The study also looks at the top habits of resilient people and their effective coping techniques.
