KU's journalism school is reviving a small-town newspaper

In 2009, the 6,000 residents of Eudora, Kansas, joined a growing number of communities across the U.S. without a dedicated local newspaper. Earlier this year, the journalism school at the University of Kansas, which is just 15 minutes away, began publishing the Eudora Times.

Two students currently serve as reporters, covering everything from education and politics to entertainment and business. Students are given class credit for their work and $250 a semester for travel expenses.
