Longtime FLORIDA TODAY journalist John Torres has been named engagement editor of the paper.
In his new role, Torres will be focused on continuing and enhancing the paper's engagement efforts with the Space Coast community, leading its editorial board and overseeing the opinion page.
“I’m so looking forward to this latest challenge in my career," Torres said. "The job appeals to me on many levels but none more important than engaging with the community I have lived in for nearly 20 years and where my roots are firmly planted. … I try and pattern my journalism on the ‘3 Fs.’ I will be firm when I have to be, friends when I can be and fair all of the time.”
