The People-Sentinel in Barnwell, South Carolina, has some big news — it is returning to local ownership.
Barnwell native Jonathan Vickery, who is currently the newspaper's editor, has entered into an agreement with the current owner, a subsidiary of Gannett Media Corp., to take over ownership on July 1.
