Board of directors to consider bylaws change to redefine publication members

Posted

The board of directors of America's Newspapers will be voting on a revision to the bylaws pertaining to the definition of publication members at its next meeting on Oct. 1.

The change regarding Publication Members would specify that a newspaper applying for membership must provide content for a local community. It also would allow newspapers marketed through philanthropic contributions to qualify for membership.

In addition, the change would remove the stated frequency requirement in light of industry changes to print frequency and the ability to publish on a 24-hour cycle online.
