Barbara Leader, who was editor of the Monroe (Louisiana) News Star, has been named executive editor of The Lafayette Daily Advertiser in Lafayette and the state editor for Gannett's Louisiana newspapers.
Leader has served as the News Star's editor since 2017 and has been the interim news director for Lafayette and Opelousas since October.
"I'm so excited to be joining the staff of The Lafayette Daily Advertiser at a time when it's more important than ever to produce top-quality, hard-hitting local journalism for the communities that we serve," Leader said.
