SCHENECTADY, NEW YORK — The owners of the Daily Gazette have agreed to the framework of a deal to sell the company to Gazette publisher John DeAugustine, the Hume-Lind family announced Wednesday.
The planned sale would end the Hume-Lind family’s 130-year tenure owning the publication.
DeAugustine said he expects the sale to be completed by the end of 2024.
“We’re working on the details,” he said. “We don’t see anything that would hold it up. It’s just the work of getting it to the new ownership. It just takes time.”
