In September, West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, in partnership with the West Virginia Press Association, launched a new fellowship for aspiring local newspaper owners. The mission of NewStart is to recruit, train and support the next generation of community newspaper owners.
Anyone with a bachelor’s degree and intention to buy and run a publication in one of the program’s participating regions is welcome to apply. Applications are open until Jan. 1 and the first group of fellows will start in July of next year.
