Terry Cascioli: Erie Times-News publisher finishing up a rewarding run

Posted

In a recent opinion column in the Erie (Pennsylvania) Times-News, Terry Cascioli said he and his wife intend to stay in the region, as he steps down from his role as president and publisher of the newspaper.

He said the traditional role he held will no longer exist at the newspaper, which is published by the new Gannett. "Executive leadership will come by business segment and be more regional in its oversight, a change meant to become more consistent across our properties and more efficient with respect to our organizational speed. These moves are meant to improve our state and regional coverage, while we maintain our core mission of being the best local news source available."

He added, "I’ve been privileged to do this great work with an incredible team, and I will cherish my memories of our unique time together and the lasting friendships I’ve made here. We’re also fortunate to have so many influential people with deep roots in the community. You may argue some of the politics, but you can’t deny the intent is always to make this a better region."
