The Florida Press Association (FPA) and Intersect Media (IM) are pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Nolte as their new president and chief executive officer.

In this new role, Nolte will become the chief advocate for publishers in Florida and oversee management services to multiple state media associations. She will also lead Intersect Media, a $20 million for-profit enterprise. With over three decades of experience in media, Nolte brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic vision to her leadership role.

“I’m absolutely delighted to share that I’ve been promoted to the esteemed role of president and CEO of the Florida Press Association and Intersect Media Solutions. I am truly grateful for the board’s unwavering confidence in me,” Carolyn Nolte beamed. “Over the span of 14 years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into shaping one of the nation’s most respected state press associations. With the Florida Press Association’s steadfast dedication to advocacy and the strategic direction of Intersect Media, I’m more empowered than ever to elevate my service to propel Florida’s newspapers to new heights.”

Nolte’s journey began over 30 years ago when she graduated with a BA in Marketing from Georgia Southern University. Her career trajectory took her to Leo Burnett in Chicago, where she honed her skills managing accounting systems for media campaigns.

In 1998, she joined Leo Burnett’s Media Division, Starcom Worldwide, as a media associate, overseeing media planning and buying for 10 Pillsbury brands across various channels, including print, television, Internet, outdoor and radio.

Relocating to Florida in 2000, Nolte continued to excel. She served as a senior sales representative for national retail accounts at the Orlando Sentinel before diving into the digital landscape. In 2006, she spearheaded the launch of the Internet Division at Orlando’s WOFL FOX 35, driving digital growth for FOX Owned & Operated Stations.

In 2010, Nolte joined IM as an account manager, where she developed innovative newspaper print and digital strategies for Publix Supermarkets Corporate and their six regional divisions. Her strategic acumen and dedication lead to her role as VP of Strategy, where she oversees day-to-day operations and provides forward-thinking solutions for clients and media partners.

“As chairman of the board, I’m thrilled to introduce our new CEO, Carolyn Nolte! Carolyn has been an integral part of our FPA/IM team for years. She brings not only exceptional expertise and proven leadership but also a genuine commitment to our association’s values and vision,” said Emerald Greene, FPA Chair. “With her guidance, I’m confident we’ll reach new heights of success and innovation. Here’s to a bright future together!”

“Carolyn Nolte’s extensive industry expertise and leadership make her the ideal choice to guide both FPA and IM,” said Sam Morley, FPA general counsel. “We look forward to her continued success in advancing our organizations.”

“Carolyn’s passion and dedication to FPA members and media partners is exciting and we look forward to the future,” said Karen Tower, FPA executive director.
