Board of directors redefines publication members through bylaws change

The board of directors of America's Newspapers announced a bylaws change during today's PIVOT virtual conference that redefines publication members.

The change regarding Publication Members now specifies that a newspaper applying for membership must provide content for a local community. It also will allow newspapers marketed through philanthropic contributions to qualify for membership.

In addition, the change removes the stated frequency requirement in light of industry changes to print frequency and the ability to publish on a 24-hour cycle online.
