Richard Murphy named CEO of Alliance for Audited Media


The Alliance for Audited Media has named Richard Murphy as its CEO, president and managing director. Murphy will begin his new role on Sept. 1 when current AAM CEO Tom Drouillard will become a senior adviser to the AAM board and staff.

Murphy brings more than 30 years of experience in media and technology assurance to his new role. He was named president of AAM in March 2023 following AAM’s merger with BPA Worldwide. He previously held several executive positions at BPA, including CEO and EVP of global operations, where he launched BPA's Technology Assurance division.

Murphy, just the ninth CEO in AAM’s 110 years, takes the lead as AAM is expanding its role as the industry’s assurance provider. Since AAM and BPA merged in 2023, Murphy has helped bring the organizations together to provide more value to clients and the industry through an expanded member base, aligned standards and new certification programs.

Drouillard and Murphy will continue working closely together over the next few months. Drouillard has served as AAM CEO since 2014. He transformed AAM into a modern media industry assurance organization by focusing on information distribution, digital assurance, industry collaboration and mergers with ImServices and BPA.

“I’ve gotten to know Rich well over the years, and I’m consistently impressed with his innovative approach to solving assurance challenges,” Drouillard said. “He will lead the organization well and excel at our mission of helping buyers buy and sellers sell.
