New York, NY — USA TODAY Co. (NYSE: TDAY) announced that Bob Gruters has joined USA TODAY Co. as head of Off-Platform and Omnichannel Revenue Strategy. In this role, he will lead the company's revenue growth strategy beyond its owned-and-operated platforms, overseeing monetization and go-to-market efforts across social, video, newsletters, podcasts and emerging distribution channels. Gruters will report to Caroline Harris, senior vice president of Content Monetization.
Gruters brings more than two decades of sales and business development experience to USA TODAY Co., having held leadership roles at some of the world’s most recognizable media and technology companies, including Meta, Univision, JCDecaux, Reach TV, REVOLT and Sony Electronics. At Meta, as group head of sales of Emerging Entertainment & Technology, he played a significant role in driving Instagram’s commercialization, helping to launch new advertising products, and partnering with many of the world’s largest brands and agencies to accelerate adoption across Meta’s family of platforms.
As president of Reach TV, Gruters transformed the airport television network into a premium national media platform by expanding strategic partnerships and accelerating advertising revenue. He most recently served as chief executive officer of View TV AdX, an ad exchange company, where he oversaw the organization’s growth in the CTV and FAST advertising marketplace.
Throughout his career, he has consistently helped companies identify untapped market opportunities and transform them into scalable businesses.
“I look forward to joining USA TODAY Co. to lead its off-platform revenue strategy,” said Gruters. “The USA TODAY Co. platform has an extraordinary combination of trusted brands, premium content and scale, and I’m excited to help unlock that value in new ways. The future of media is omnichannel, and audiences and advertisers increasingly expect great content and experiences wherever they are.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Bob, whose proven track record of driving innovation across the media landscape makes him an outstanding addition to our team,” said Caroline Harris. “His extensive leadership background and deep expertise in digital media will be paramount as we expand our off-platform and omnichannel capabilities and unlock new opportunities to serve advertisers.”
Gruters holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Rowan University.
