Zette launches article paywall solution at TechCrunch Disrupt

Posted

Media tech startup Zette launched its product beta at TechCrunch Disrupt’s Battlefield 200 on Oct. 20. Zette was one of only 200 startups selected to present at the renowned Silicon Valley conference, where the best, most innovative emerging startups in the world pitch on the showroom floor.

Zette launched its beta on the TechCrunch Disrupt stage to a select group of users as a pilot ahead of its January 2023 launch to the public. Beta users now have access to the Zette browser extension, which unlocks article paywalls across a wide range of premium publishers — all while sharing revenue with newsrooms.

Zette is a venture-backed startup founded by CEO Yehong Zhu, a 26-year-old former Forbes journalist, Twitter product manager and Harvard alumni. She credits the idea behind Zette to her time working in the Forbes newsroom. To me, it made a lot of sense to create a news product that would allow younger, price-sensitive readers to pay directly for access to a wide variety of content,” says Zhu.

TechCrunch Disrupt is an annual three-day tech conference where the global startup community comes together to discover insights, collaborate and celebrate technological innovation. “Launching Zette’s beta at TechCrunch Disrupt fulfilled a lifelong dream,” says Zhu. “We're so excited by all the interest we've received.”

Zette encourages curious readers to join its waitlist for first-to-know details about upcoming releases, news and promotions. Publishers can learn more by contacting hello@zette.com.
