Facebook launches news section

Facebook rolled out the first phase of its news section today, which will only be available to a couple hundred thousand U.S. users. The tab will have a wide release at a later date.

The new tab will feature headlines and stories from partners, such as The Wall Street Journal and Buzzfeed. Facebook is set to pay some of its news partnership up to $3 million for licensing fees, but not all publishers in the program will be compensated.
