Joseph Leong has been named publisher of the Columbia (Missouri) Daily Tribune to succeed Terri Leifeste, who left the paper to lead a group of privately owned newspapers.
Leong is senior group publisher for several Gannett newspapers and specialty publications in southern Missouri, including the Rolla Daily News and the Lake Sun. He has worked in the media industry for 30 years in various management capacities — including advertising sales, marketing and distribution — in Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Hawaii and New Mexico.
Jim Van Nostrand will remain as executive editor of the Tribune, and state editor for Gannett’s newspapers in Missouri.
