Jo Adetunji has been promoted to editor of The Conversation UK (TCUK), an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community. In her new role she will be responsible for the strategic priorities and editorial direction of TCUK.
Adetunji has been with TCUK since its launch in 2013, first as health and medicine editor, before being promoted to assistant, deputy editor and then managing editor. Before joining TCUK, she worked as a reporter and editor at The Guardian, covering stories from UK knife crime to the Arab Spring. Adetunji has also edited The Guardian's health and social care networks and has written for The Independent and The Times. She also sat on the panel for the Cairncross Review into a sustainable future for high-quality journalism in 2019, is a trustee of the Public Interest News Foundation and a board member of the British Journalism Review.
Alongside Adetunji’s promotion, Stephen Khan has moved to executive editor, Global Network, responsible for global strategy, editorial collaboration, compliance and advocating for the global brand and network at public and sectoral events. Damian Thompson has also been promoted to chief operating officer of TC International, where his remit will be global fundraising, international expansion and partnerships.
