Post-Pandemic: We Rebuild sections offer perspectives, solutions

Posted

Five McClatchy newspapers in South Carolina — The State (Columbia), The Island Packet, The Beaufort Gazette, The Sun News (Myrtle Beach) and The Herald (Rock Hill) — have launched "We Rebuild" sections on their websites to bring together perspectives and solutions for a path to restore their communities in a post-pandemic world.

"Our reporters, editors and visual journalists have worked day and night to bring you coverage of the novel coronavirus pandemic in South Carolina," President and Editor Brian Tolley wrote in an announcement to readers of The State, The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. "Now, 11 weeks into this unprecedented test on our society, we’re beginning to tell the story of how we rebuild."

We Rebuild will provide essentials such as a lead on a new job, explanations of complicated unemployment benefits, updates on how the paper is holding leaders accountable and will serve as a resource for such items as kid-friendly activities.

Readers also can sign up for a free weekly We Rebuild newsletter to have all of the stories delivered to their email inboxes.
