The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is seeking a beat reporter for all Division I college sports in Arkansas other than the Razorbacks (ASU, UALR, UAPB and UCA).
During football season, the reporter concentrates on ASU while picking up breaking news with the other schools, and covering occasional high school football games. During basketball season, the reporter covers UALR men's and women's basketball closely while also keeping up with the other three schools. During the summer, the reporter is responsible for Arkansas Travelers coverage.
Qualified candidates will have excellent journalism skills in both writing and photography, be familiar with AP style, type at least 45 wpm and have a basic understanding of sports reporting.
Candidates must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Vacation, 401K, profit sharing, health, dental vision and other benefits.
