Don't stop the celebration! The Gazette helps families recognize their graduates

Many of our high school and college seniors won’t have a traditional graduation this year but that shouldn’t stop the celebration!  Facing the realness of this harsh new reality, our customer, The (Colorado Springs) Gazette, sprang into action with an innovative idea to celebrate these major lifetime milestones while generating revenue for their publications.  It all started with one question: Can Brainworks' Self-Service Web Order Entry help us (and fast) execute this idea?

The idea was simple and personable: to provide an outlet that would mobilize local readers to deliver personalized messages to their soon-to-be graduates and give them the celebratory recognition they deserve.  With graduations right around the corner, Brainworks teamed up with our internal experts in Rates, Pagination and Web Order Entry to help build this self-service website. 

The self-service website enabled families to upload a photo, write a few words about their graduate and make payment in a few easy steps.  After a local business saw what The Gazette was doing for the local community, management was inspired and offered to sponsor 75 graduates.  This turned into a sponsorship opportunity for additional revenue.  Brainworks quickly added a discount code in the self-service website so that the families could benefit from this additional community support. 

Here are other ideas that web order entry can leverage generating revenue:

  • Funeral Announcements: Allows funeral homes the ability to log into their own portal and create/submit their own obituaries.
  • Celebratory Milestones: Lets the local community personalize celebrations like birthdays, weddings, engagements, anniversaries, etc.
  • Classified Advertising: Gives individuals the ability to submit their garage sales, houses for rent, cars for sale, etc.
