Mary Dolan, a 30-year veteran journalist and newsroom leader with deep roots in New York's Hudson Valley, has been named executive editor of The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, as well as The Poughkeepsie Journal and The Journal News/lohud.
The three news organizations will continue to emphasize local news and elevate their collaboration across the Hudson Valley and New York State as the USA TODAY NETWORK New York.
Dolan has been the editor of The Journal News/lohud and The Poughkeepsie Journal since February 2019. Prior to that, she was the news director at both papers since 2014.
She said a priority will be to equip the staff with the training and resources they need to excel in the digital age and to further elevate their journalism.
