Emily Coleman, who has spent the last decade primarily reporting on local governments, has been named associate editor of the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
For the past four and a half years, she has been with the Lake County News-Sun, Tribune Publishing’s daily newspaper in Waukegan, Illinois. Her new appointment is a homecoming, as she previously spent three and a half years at the Northwest Herald as a reporter.
In a column to readers, Coleman said: "I hope to bring my approach — reporting not only on what happened but why it happened so that the community can make informed decisions on what to do next — to my role as the Northwest Herald associate editor."
