Kelly McGowan, an Iowa State graduate and a four-year member of the Des Moines Register staff, has been named editor of the Ames (Iowa) Tribune.
McGowan will oversee the staff and production of the Tribune, its website and six affiliated weekly publications: the Boone News-Republican, Dallas County News, Nevada Journal, Perry Chief, Story County Herald and Tri-County Times.
She succeeds Michael Crumb, who joined the Des Moines-based Business Record as a reporter.
